Ana & Valerio | Rustic wedding in Italy

Rustic wedding in Italy

This wedding is one of my favorites of all time since I love relaxed and intimate weddings. And when it happens to be in a style that fits me personally (ofcourse, its a bonus that it takes place in lovely Italy 😀 ),  Im happy as a kid in a candy store.

It was my first time in Udine. Beauty and historical heritage of the city mesmerized me.

Anyway, our big day started with gathering at the Piazza della Liberta, which is the most beautiful square in lovely city of Udine with a clock that resembles the one in St. Mark’s square in Venice.  The wedding party moved to the city hall, stunning Palazzo d’Aronco which has the most astonishing entrance that I’ve ever seen.

After the civil ceremony, rice is thrown at the couple coming out of the wedding hall to symbolize a shower of fertility. What followed was cutting a log in two with a double handle saw, which is a custom in some regions of Italy and symbolizes the couple’s partnership in marriage.

Following after was a quick photoshoot while all guests were heading to this small and cozy trattoria to celebrate such a great day…

Hope these following photos will bring you a glimpse of joy and happiness of Ana & Valerio’s wedding. If you are planning your own rustic wedding in Italy, don’t be a stranger and get in touch!
